By accessing or using BunkMeter at https://bunkmeter.app ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use. If you do not agree with any part of these terms, please do not use the Service.

These terms apply to all visitors and users of the Service. They may be updated at any time; the date above reflects the latest revision. Continued use after updates constitutes acceptance.

2. Description of Service

BunkMeter is a free, browser-based attendance planning tool for college students. It accepts attendance figures provided by the user and performs mathematical calculations to estimate bunk budgets and recovery plans. The Service:

• Operates entirely client-side — no data is stored, transmitted, or processed on any server.
• Does not create or require user accounts.
• Does not guarantee the accuracy of outputs relative to any institution's official records.
• Is provided free of charge with no guarantee of continuous availability.

3. Permitted Use

You may use BunkMeter for personal, non-commercial academic planning purposes. You may share the URL with friends, classmates, or on social media. You may embed the link in educational content.

4. Prohibited Use

You must not:

• Attempt to reverse-engineer, copy, or republish the tool as your own product without permission.
• Use automated scripts or bots to access the Service at scale.
• Use the Service in any way that violates applicable Indian or international law.
• Attempt to introduce malicious code, interfere with the Service's operation, or circumvent any security measures.
• Misrepresent BunkMeter's outputs as official attendance records from any educational institution.

5. Accuracy Disclaimer

BunkMeter's calculations are based solely on the numbers you enter. The tool assumes those numbers are accurate. We make no representations that the calculated results will match your college's official attendance system. Discrepancies can arise from data entry errors, differing calculation methods used by institutions, or attendance records that have not yet been updated in official systems.

Always verify your attendance status directly with your college before making decisions about attending or skipping classes.

6. Intellectual Property

The BunkMeter name, design, UI, and code are owned by BunkMeter. You may not reproduce or distribute the source code or visual design without prior written permission.

Third-party libraries used by BunkMeter (Tailwind CSS, Space Grotesk font) remain the property of their respective owners and are used under their respective open-source licences.

7. Limitation of Liability

BunkMeter is provided "as is" without any warranty, express or implied. To the fullest extent permitted by law, BunkMeter and its operators shall not be liable for:

• Any academic consequences arising from decisions made using the Service's output.
• Errors in calculation resulting from incorrect input data.
• Loss of data, service interruptions, or inability to access the Service.
• Any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages of any kind.

8. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of India. Any disputes arising from these Terms or use of the Service shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of courts in India.
